2.5 is coming

I have been working on some major features for the upcoming 2.5 update. The first big addition is a completely redesigned cave system that will make underground exploration much more interesting and challenging:

The new cave generation creates massive underground structures with deep crevices, unique formations, and varied vertical exploration. You'll find large caverns, narrow passages, and magnificent underground vistas:

But the feature I know most of you have been waiting for... multiplayer mode is finally coming to Survivalcraft! This has been a monumental task that required rewriting significant portions of the game's architecture, but it's been worth it.

The multiplayer implementation will allow up to 8 players to join the same world, with both LAN and online play supported. Players will be able to collaborate on building projects, share resources, or engage in friendly competition.

Some other features coming in 2.5:

  • New underground minerals and resources
  • More varied mob spawning in different cave systems
  • Improved lighting system with support for colored light sources
  • Cave-specific ambient sound effects
  • New crafting recipes for multiplayer-specific items
  • Performance optimizations for larger underground spaces

The development is progressing well, and I'm expecting to release a beta version for testing within a few weeks. This is shaping up to be the biggest update in the history of Survivalcraft, and I can't wait to see what you all create with these new features.

Let me know what you think about these upcoming changes in the comments below!
